TNSDC Skill Training Programmes

CFTI Chennai, as a training partner, is conducting a short-term skill training program for 1805 candidates for FY 2022-23 and 2023-24, titled ‘Placement-linked Entry-level Training for Unemployed Youth,’ sponsored by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation under the TNSDC Green Channel.

In FY 2024-25, CFTI Chennai, as a training partner, provides industry-relevant and emerging courses to impart skill training and employability to the youth of Tamil Nadu under the Finishing Schools Program.

This quarter, the Skill Training Division at CFTI Chennai commenced training for 60 candidates, with mobilization efforts underway for approximately 400 candidates. Training centers have been set up in remote villages near Footwear and Leather Goods Industries. Pre-surveys with MSMEs and industries facilitate parallel placement of trained candidates post-completion.

Training Courses

The training courses of the TNSDC-sponsored Skill Training Programme are based on both approved QPs (a set of National Occupational Standards) and Non-NSQF for the Leather Sector as follows:

• Stitching Operator Footwear
• Stitching Operator Goods and Garments
• Shoe Upper Maker
• Pre-assembly Operator
